Ignatian Retreats
This painting depicts Ignatius presenting the rules of the Society of Jesus to Pope Paul III. This image was executed in the seventeenth century and is in the sacristy of the Church of the Gesu in Rome. Paul III approved the Order on September 27, 1540 in the Bull Regimini Militantis Ecclesiae. Facilitated by trained and certified lay spiritual directors, these Ignatian retreats are under the supervision of the Cenacle of Our Lady of Divine Providence® School of Spirituality. Effective 1/1/2011, the suggested donation for the eight (8) day retreat is $480.00 and includes one hot meal served daily. The Ignatian retreat tradition often calls retreatants to fast and abstain. In order to keep costs to a minimum, no regular meals are provided for the 12 and 30 day retreats. The retreatant is given the opportunity to shop for and to prepare his/her own meals. Also effective 1/1/2011, the suggested donation for the twelve (12) day retreat is $720.00, and the suggested donation for the thirty (30) day retreat is $1,350.00, which includes housing accommodations, retreat materials, and spiritual direction. We suggest retreatants come in the day before the actual retreat begins and leave the morning after the retreat closes. If you are interested in making an Ignatian retreat, a telephone interview is required. Please contact Adrienne Novotny, M.Ed. (Associate Director) at the Cenacle of Our Lady of Divine Providence® School of Spirituality. All the relevant contact information can be found on the Contact Us page.
